Evi Edna Ogholi-Ogosi is widely known as “Queen of Nigerian Reggae”, the
first woman to play reggae in Nigeria. She mostly sang in her native
language, Isoko. Some of her hit songs include Jealousy, Ririovara (Dry
your tears), Obaro, Oghene me, Ujiro, Look before you cross, One
kilometre, among othersKnown as the "Queen of Nigerian Reggae," Ogholi
recorded her first album in 1989, a light style of reggae with vocals
in her native Isoko. She established herself all over West Africa and
received sponsorship from Pepsi for a Nigerian national tour.
